June 17, 2019

We are going to Twin Valley Farms tomorrow to learn about Alberta agriculture, machinery now and in the past, how crops grow, how farms use water, and to learn about where a lot of our foods come from.

Students will all meet tomorrow morning at the front of the school to get on the bus.  Please check in with the teacher there at 8:15 when supervision starts.  We are hoping to leave promptly at 8:30am.

We are asking that students not bring electronic devices but if they have colouring/activity books or any reading they would like to do they are more than welcome to bring it.

Please remember that we will not be returning to the school until 4-4:30 tomorrow.  We will send a tweet or do a blog post at 3:30 to inform you of our ETA and do updates every so often.  Mrs. Kinsman and Mrs. Cox will stay with all children until they are picked up incase someone can't get there right on time.

Please send children with full water bottles, a good sized lunch and an extra snack for the ride home.

It is supposed to be quite rainy tomorrow so please make sure students have appropriate rain gear as we will be outside for much of the day (there are indoor spaces available if we need).

The Zoo group is going back to the Calgary Zoo on Wednesday for a Conservation Festival where we will share our action project.

We are still looking for a few volunteers to join us for the Zoo trip.  Please contact Mrs. Cox at njcox@cbe.ab.ca if you are able to come.

Here is some information for parents driving to the farm tomorrow.  If possible, you may want to follow the bus as it can be a bit difficult to find.

It is Eric Harvie School's annual Sports Day on June 25th and we need some help.

We need volunteers to set-up, supervise stations and take down. The more volunteers that we can get to help out the bettter! You can sign-up for the morning shift, afternoon shift or if you are really keen--both :)

Volunteers must have completed their police security checks and have their security clearance.

As always, thank you very much for volunteering your time.
