Today was our Terri Fox Run!
Here are some of the Kindness Pod's reflections from the day:
I liked running for the people who have had cancer or have cancer now.
I loved running with my best friends.
I loved that my sister got to give me a piggy back ride.
I got to see my brother/sister.
I loved the changing colours of leaves.
I was happy that we got to have muffins and apples and water.
We got to run in the coulee.
I was running for my Grandma.
I was running for my Grandpa.
I loved running through the finish line.

Dear Parents/Guardians:
On Friday, September 28, 2017 students at Eric Harvie School will be taking part in the annual Terry Fox School Run with Twelve Mile Coulee and Tuscany School. This is an exciting community event. We will begin our run at Twelve Mile Coulee School run through the bike paths accompanied by volunteers and safely escorted across streets by Calgary City Police, to Tuscany School. We will have a celebration and snack before walking back to Eric Harvie School.
At Eric Harvie School we believe in building peaceful communities and part of this mission is to be able to take care of others. The Terry Fox Foundation’s goal is to fun innovative cancer research through an non-competitive all inclusive run. 82% of all money raised by the foundation goes toward many forms of cancers including pediatric, lung, brain and more.
Eric Harvie School’s goal this year is to raise $4000.00.
Donating online is fast and easy. Simply, go to www.terrryfox.org , click “Terry Fox School Run” and “Give to a Student”, or click this direct link:
which will take you to our school page on the Terry Fox Foundation website. Your child may also choose to set up their own fundraising page in the “Give to a Student” section of the website. By doing this, they will be able to email friends and family a direct fundraising link. On-line donations and/or student pages may be set up prior to our run. Students will also be given a pledge form.
Any amount of donation is greatly appreciated and donations of $20.00 or more that are listed on a Terry Fox pledge sheet (with a full name and address) are automatically receipted. Cheques and cash will both be accepted. Please make any cheques payable to The Terry Fox Foundation. All monies raised will be forwarded to The Terry Fox Foundation. All pledge forms and money will be due by Tuesday October 9th , 2017. All students who return a pledge form and donations will be entered into a draw for a Terry Fox t-shirt.
Parent volunteers will be greatly needed as we will be using a route from Twelve Mile Coulee to Tuscany School. Please check the sign up genius for your opportunity to be a part of our event.
Sincerely,
Ken Der and Teresa Bowles
Terry Fox School Run Coordinators

Tomorrow please remember to wear running shoes, not winter or rubber boots.
Please check the forecast in the morning.
Wild Rose and Mountain View took their "Who I Am Running For" stickers and tattoos home. Please have a conversation with your child about who they might run for. We discussed running for a family member or friend who has been affected by cancer. If you do not have anyone you know of, we discussed running for Terry Fox.
Please send in your donation forms sometime next week.
Please remember that Orange Shirt Day is Monday, October 1st.
Today we continued with our Canada Goose Math.

Today we did some lego building. We made towers and the other group played a game called Poison.
In Poison you are supposed to try not to be the last one to get the last block. You start with 13 blocks and you can take either 2 or 1 blocks from the pile and you go back and forth.
My group read a story and then wrote about ourselves. We wrote a story about ourselves and being peaceful.
We did drawing about what we hear, smell, seeing, and feeling.
We went outside today after lunch.
In gym (P.E.) we practiced falling
We got to go into the Maker Space. I helped my friends make mini robot obstacle course.
I took apart a radio. I used a screwdriver.
I did Kapla with two other boys. We tried to make a city.

Please return medical and consent forms
