Picture Retake - Monday
If you're child requires a picture re-take or was away for picture day, please make sure that they are aware that they will need to have their picture taken on Monday, 5th as all gr. 1/2 teachers will be away. Please also put a note in their folders to give to their guest teacher.

Lepidoptera Facts
- Butterflies and moths see flowers differently than humans
- Butterflies fly in the day, moths fly at night
- Their pupa stage is different
- Moths make a cocoon and butterflies form a chrysalis
- Their wings are made of little tiny scales
- Lepidoptera taste from their feet
- Lepidoptera smell from their antennae
- Lepidoptera have a proboscis to drink nectar
- Lepidoptera have small eyes
- Wasps can lay eggs inside a caterpillar
- When caterpillars move their heads to call for help, ants will come and then they get a sweet treat.
- Lepidoptera have bones on their outside
- Butterflies keep their wings closed when they are resting and moths keep them open
- Moths have hairs on their antennae and butterflies are straight with a q-tip type top
- Skippers are a butterfly but they are similar to a moth.
