Just a quick update for today...


Zoo and Vivo went to their final day of Open Minds. Although it was smokey today both groups were able to spend time learning inside.

Back at the school the Glenbow groups enjoyed literacy, working on art projects, and Wonder Time.

Have a great weekend and be careful of the smoke!

Zoo Day 4

Another fabulous day at the Calgary Zoo!

We started off with our final observation and documenting of our animals the students are filming and studying.

We also learned about how to record animal behaviours through ethograms.  We then studied the Japanese Macaque and used tally marks to track their behaviours.

We then spent our entire afternoon learning about the Amur Tiger.  We studied biofacts and went behind the scenes to see how zookeepers care for the tigers.

We'd like to say a big thank you again to all of our volunteers for the day.

May 30

Today we had two groups at Open Minds again. 

Vivo enjoyed a nice morning yoga session and an afternoon outside playing with loose parts. The students enjoyed playing with tires, ropes, buckets, and even a wheelbarrow. 

The Zoo Crew enjoyed tigers and lions. 

Please remember to pack sunscreen and a water bottle for both groups tomorrow.

Back at school the Glenbow Open Mind groups worked on literacy, math, and art projects. 

Day 3 for the Zoo

We had an amazing day in the Canadian Wilds today!  Thank you again to all of our wonderful parent volunteers for giving up your time to be with us.

Tomorrow is a day with the tigers!
